City Harvest BID Against Hunger 2012Who doesn’t like to gorge themselves silly for a good cause?  You don’t have to twist my arm.  On Tuesday, October 16th, over 70 chefs from New York’s top restaurants will join forces at City Harvest’s 18th Annual Bid Against Hunger.  This terrific, walk-around tasting event will feature small bites from acclaimed chefs, like Marcus Samuelsson, Alex Stupak, Eric Ripert, and Dale Talde, and specialty drinks from Booker and Dax‘s Tristan Willey and The Wren‘s Christy Harris.  Guests will also have the chance to bid on exclusive prizes in both the live and silent auctions.  (Think dinner with top chefs, vacations, and concert tickets.)

All you have to do to get in on the event is purchase a ticket, which start at $350.  Each ticket counts as a donation, which means that $350 will go towards feeding more than 1,400 hungry children.  Last year, they raised more than $1 million to benefit City Harvest’s efforts.  Not bad for an evening full of good food, good drinks, and good company!

Le Bernardin’s Eric Ripert – Chilled Peekytoe Crab Salad; Baby Radish and Avocado, Green Apple-Lemongrass Nage
The Darby’s Alex Guarnaschelli – Heirloom Tomato Soup with Bacon Popcorn
Brushstroke’s Isao Yamada – Tuna and Yuzu Kosho “Hakata” Sushi Rolls
Empellon’s Alex Stupak – Ruby Red Shrimp Ceviche with Sea Urchin and Guacamole
The Nook at Red Rooster Harlem – Marcus Samuelsson – Fried Chicken with Sweet Chili Mayo & Pickles on a Buttermilk Biscuit
Talde’s Dale Talde – Chilled Soba Noodles with Market Vegetables, Soy Dashi, and Black Sesame
