Where to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
As they say, everyone’s Irish on March 17th — so provided you haven’t given up Guinness and corned beef for Lent, you’ll want to start plotting out your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations now. And we’ve got your guide to holiday-friendly destinations — from rare whiskies and Bangers & Mash at the award-winning Dead Rabbit Grocery to naturally green delicacies at the plant-based by CHLOE.
The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog: Equally inspired by Irish-American tradition and the conviviality of Olde New York, this James Beard-nominated, multiple award-winning, bi-level establishment boasts a taproom on the ground floor, employing craft beers and whiskies (over 50 Irish options including Yellow Spot, Teeling Rum Finish, and 17-year old Knappogue Castle), and a plush parlor upstairs, which offers a full food menu (Potato Leek Soup, Bangers and Mash, Guinness Lamb Stew, Braised Local Rabbit), as well as cocktails and communal punches. You can even pay a visit to the adjunct grocery, to pick up hard-to-find Irish exports, including Andrew’s Liver Salts, Horlicks Malted Milk Drink, Tayto Cheese Crisps and Haywards Pickled Onions.
