Bubby’s Sour Cherry Pie

What started as a pie shop for Ron Silver morphed into a 24-hour restaurant that’s a little like a diner with seriously good food.  It’s not often you stumble into a diner with its own, house-cured bacon, a slow-poached tuna nicoise salad, or homemade sausages.  Did I mention the cocktail program?  But it all started with pies and they’re just as good as ever.  Bubby’s menu features Mile High Pie,  Key Lime Pie, Banana Cream Pie, and our go-to, Michigan Sour Cherry Pie.  Beneath a flaky lattice crust lie four pounds of sour cherries, flavored with almond, tapioca and lemon.  This is the stuff cravings are made of, which is probably why you can get your sweet, juicy fix delivered FedEx anytime you want it.
