La Bonne Soupe’s French Onion Soup

In France, the phrase “La Bonne Soupe” has come to mean the good life.  While the good people over at La Bonne Soupe might not be able to deliver on that to every customer, their French Onion Soup comes close.  One of our favorite things about this old school French bistro is that they know not to mess with a good thing, sticking to a traditional rendition of the classic.  La Bonne Soupe’s version comes with a seal of melted Gruyere (gooey in the center, crispy around the edges), and filled with rich, earthy onion soup, caramelized ringlets and a crusty hunk of bread. Theirs more French bread on the side, so you can dip as you go.  Not a bad way to warm up on a chilly autumn day…
