Momofuku Ssäm Bar
New York

David Chang rocked the New York food scene when he started introducing large format feasts, from the Fried Chicken Dinner at Momofuku Noodle Bar to the Smoked Lamb Shoulder with Rice at Ma Peche. The real game changer was the Rotisserie Duck Feast he recently launched at Momofuku Ssam Bar (it feeds up to six people). Of course, in true Momofuku style, you have to reserve the meal (and table) well in advance, but it’s worth it to plan ahead for this epic duck dinner. $140 gets you and your guests a whole rotisserie duck, a side of chive pancakes, a bowl of bibb lettuce, some hoisin and duck scallion sauces, crispy shallots, and a choice of two seasonal sides. The duck, which is locally sourced from Crescent Farms in Long Island, isn’t your average bird. Chang first stuffs a duck and pork sausage under the duck skin, then cooks it on a rotisserie for a few hours until it’s tender and juicy. It’s proabably a good thing the reservation is somewhat challenging to nail down, otherwise we’d eat this duck dinner way too often.
