Tortilleria Nixtamal’s Pozole

Not many Mexican joints make their own masa in-house daily, which is what sets this super authentic Queens eatery apart from the rest. The result is incredibly moist tamales, stuffed with everything from chicken to pork, and corn tortillas that are ground and cooked daily.  The real money dish at Tortilleria Nixtamal is the Pozole, a rich pork soup made with melting chunks of pork, hominy, and chilies.  Half the fun and flavor are the toppings you can add yourself, like guacamole, sour cream, and lime juice!)  Pair it with one of their tamales (the Elote made with fresh corn or the Chipotle, a spicy chicken and pork combo), and call it a noche.
